Annotated Bibliographies and Literature Reviews

Ask Your Instructor

The ultimate guide to your literature review is your instructor.   We've provided some examples, but your instructor ultimately governs what is required for their assignment.

What is a Literature Review?

A literature review is a type of academic writing that provides an account of what has already been published by researchers and other experts in a given field. It can stand alone or serve as an introduction to a lab report or other type of research. A literature review surveys relevant past literature and connects, synthesizes, and evaluates these works.
