Library 101: Get Started at the Library @ the Powerhouse

Welcome to the Morse Library @ the Powerhouse Riverside Lounge! Things may look different this year, but the Library is still here to provide you with support and services. Check out this Research Guide for more information about everything the library offers!

Library Fast Facts

Morse Library:

  1. Holds more that 985,546 print and electronic editions.
  2. Owns more than 47,421 unique multimedia (DVDs, Audiobooks, Images, etc.) titles.
  3. Has 105 academic databases with over 100,000 individual journal titles.
  4. Our most circulated print book is Mrs. Bridge by Evan S. Connell.
  5. Our most accessed electronic book is The Handbook of Sport Psychology by Robert N. Singer.
  6. The oldest item in our print collection (outside of Archives/Special Collections) is A Catalog Of Books, On Sale by Pishey Thompson from 1825.
  7. The oldest item in our Archives is a copy of the Nuremberg Chronicle, an illustrated history of the world, published in 1493.

Need a break from studying? Make sure to check out our board game collection, listen to some vinyl on our record player, read some zines, or work on a puzzle at our activity table! The Library at the Powerhouse also has several printers and a computer lab.

We are open from 7:30am-10:00pm Monday-Friday and 10:00am-10:00pm Saturday-Sunday.

  • Is printing available at the Powerhouse?
    • Yes, color printing is available in the Riverside Lounge at the Powerhouse and black and white printing is available in the Computer Lab that is adjacent to the Riverside Lounge.
  • What study spaces are available at the Powerhouse?
    • There are a variety of tables and chairs available in the Powerhouse Riverside Lounge Library location. There is also a computer lab located adjacent to the Riverside Lounge. 
  • Are there books available to checkout at the Powerhouse?
    • A selection of scholarly and popular works are available to checkout from the Powerhouse Riverside Lounge Library location. We also have a wide selection of technology, board games, vinyl, periodicals, and zines available for faculty, staff, and students. Stop by the Powerhouse to check out our collections!
